Anthro Coffee is a specialty coffee nano-roaster based in Brooklyn, NY.
We source traceable, single-origin coffees from producers and communities around the world.
We gravitate toward coffees that are bright, floral, fruity, and complex, and roast on the lighter side to let those qualities shine.
Our name
Anthro Coffee takes its name from the Greek root anthrop, meaning human or humankind.
The name reflects our respect for the extraordinary human effort, care, and craft that goes into every cup of coffee, and the connections it creates between people from seed to cup.
Philosophy
We believe that coffee is, at its heart, a human experience.
On an individual level, it is a chance to slow down and savor something good.
But coffee is also inherently social. As you enjoy our coffee, we want you to feel a connection to the people behind it – the farmers who nurtured the coffee trees and picked the fruit, the producers who processed it, those who sourced and transported it with care, and the roasters, baristas, and the home brewers who bring it to life in the cup.
We want to celebrate and share the joy of experiencing coffee in this way.
